Sea Nettle

The purpose of this project was to create a garment that had a 3D aspect to it. This dress was inspired by jellyfish, specifically the Chrysaora Melanaster. What really caught my eye were the colors of the jellyfish. This type of jellyfish can have many different colors and shades. I choose to focus on the orange and pink colors of the jellyfish. 
The base layer of the dress is made of pink stretch polyester crepe. The top of the dress of composed of a dark peach Silk Shantung fabric. The fabric draping down the dress is a Winter Wheat China Silk/Habotai.
